r The Coquille THE TAPER TH ATS VOL. XXVIII. NO. 33. * Corn Show Meeting, Aug. 29 Whether Coquille to to have a Corn Show this fail will be the subject of discussion at a meeting to be held at 7:80 next Monday evening in the city hall. Call for the meeting was made yesterday by J. L. Smith, chairman of the Corn Show Association, and aar- eryone in Coquille who desires to arouse a greater community in terest, a reviving of the times when Coquille was the most active town in southwestern Oregon, to invited to meet with the association directors and express his or her opinion on the question. Besides Mr. Smith, the directors ore Goo. Jenkins, J. A. Lamb, Geo. Hampton, Lyman Carrier, H. E. Hess and X. D. Webb. It to not expected to raise and spend a lot of money on a Corn Show thia year. There will probably be very little available for booth prises; and the talk heard around town to that merchandise prizes be offered for com, potato, apple and vegetable ex hibits. In fact the concensus of opin ion is that the cost of the show should be cut to the minimum. There is around 8200 remaining in the treasury from the 1880 Corn Show.
