The Loyal Temperance legion met
Thursday afternoon with the follow*
inr memebn present: Billy, Bernard
and Mary Alice Corpe, Myrtle and
Virginia Beckett, Evelyn Morrison,
Constance Knight and Evelyn Kegg.
Everett and Mary Louise Culver were
visitors. A picnic was planned for
the next meeting when the mothers
will be entertained.
The Christian Endeavorers held an
interesting "Sealed Order” meeting
Sunday evening, with Miss Mae
Hatcher as leader.
There were 18
members presenet, each one taking
part in the meeting. A solo by Mary
Alice Corpe was much enjoyed.
A
business meeting of the society will
^e held next Sunday evening after
the regular meeting.
Mias Maude Hooton has been em­
ployed at the Forrest L. Moon home
in Myrtle Point since Sunday. Mm.
Moon, who has been critically ill
following two major operations, was
able to be moved Sunday from the
Mist hospital to her home.
Misa Ionella Curtiss came home
Monday afternoon from a delightful
visit of over a week with Mies Lavaun
Assen at Hall’s Creek. On Sunday
they attended
the Myrtle Union
Christian Endeavor picnic and execu­
tive committee meeting at Basten-
dorff beach.
and Ma* Maxine Laird made a busi­
ness trip to Coquille Tuesday. Later
they went to Camas Valley, where
they met Mr. and Mrs. Binger Laird.
Everyone enjoyed a picnic supper.
Mirv Laird returned to her home at
Roseburg with her parents.
Paul Laird returned to his home
Wednesday after spending a week
visiting at the E. A. Schneider home
at Illahe.
Mr. and
family went to Drain Wednesday to
attend the funeral of his sister, Miss
Mabel Krewson.
Elmer Wilson has been hauling hay
with hk truck from the Brant Tay­
lor place to the Charlie and Mike
Oberman ranch at Dora.
Mrs. Phoebe Harry, who has been
visiting relatives in the valley, re­
turned to her home-at Coquille Sat­
urday.
James Crowley, who has been em­
ployed by his uncle, David Crowley, I
near Port Orford, peeling tanbark,
■ime home Sunday.
Several of the young Adkh of the
valley met at the home <n Mr. and'
Mrs. Jake Bohlander for an informal,
¿arty. Those present were: Maxine
Simpson, James, Eloise and Edwin
Crowley, Eula Doak, Henry Weathers,
Josephine Adams, Hazel Taylor, Clar-
*r.ce and Devtayne Shoemaker and
Mildred and Clarence-Nylander.
Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Alford and son,
Rawleigh, were Sunday visitors at the
homes of Charlie Heller and Lee Mast,
of McKinley.
Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hicks and son,1
Claud, and Mrs. May re Laird and
°hilip and Bobbie, were in Coquille
Munday on business.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerne Hicks and son
took their nephew, Jean Jewett, to
his home at Roseburg.
They went
Friday and returned Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Benham and |
Harold Shepherd were in the valley I
Monday from their camp on Dement I
Creek.
Mr. and Mrs. Marion Miller and '
laughter, Virginia, of Coquille, and I
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Waterman, of
