The payment is for services last June. Mrs. Walter E. Cox and two daugh ters, of Bandon, and Mrs. Cox’ broth er, Geo. Nordstrom, of Berkeley, Cal ifornia, visited with Mr. and Mrs. A. 0. Culbertson Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth King, of Montana, arrived here last Saturday by auto, from their home in Silver Bow. Mrs. King will be remembered by her friends as Doris Maiden. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jeub returned Sunday from Lexington, Ore., where Mrs. Jeub had been visiting her old home for the past two weeks. They came home over the Coast Highway. Jack Wilson and D. D. Pierce were severely cut and bruised last Monday on the Bear creek hill- when their Ford was hit by the J. H. Dalen car, and knocked off the road. The heavi er ear had not kept to the right side of the highway. . ■ < ._ Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Dwyer and three children, of Everett, Wash., and hie brother, Harry Dwyer, of Hibing, Minn., have been here the past week, making the Jas. Brady home their headquarters while visiting friends in Coquille, Powers and at the Bay. The Geo. Dwyer family formerly lived in Powers. Goo. W. Taylor Sr. left Wednesday morning with four nursery men from Eugene and Portland on a trip to Cal ifornia. Theye were going first to the bulb farms near Brookings and thence down the coast Mr. Taylor expected to go no further than Santa Rosa, but did not know just when he would return. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Purvance and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Booher enjoyed a very pleasant outing trip from Sat urday morning until Monday evening. They went south of Eureka one hun dred miles, saw the large Coolidge redwood, though which they drove and another of the huge sequoias, 87 feet in circumference. LeRoy Rice, of the Ideal Bakery, left last Friday for Minneapolis, Minn., where his mother, Mm. Isabel Rice, has been ill for some time.
