Missionary Society Meets
The meeting of the Business and
Professional Women’s Club next Mon­
day, February 16th, is to be in charge
of the International Relatione com­
mittee. A program will be given
consisting of an address by Honor­
able J. T, Brand, judge of the Circuit
court, on “Relations between the Pa­
cific Coast and the Orient;” a pageant
on the World Court; an explanation
of Disarmament and musical numbers.
The public is cordially invited to
attend. The meeting will be held in
the club rooms at 8 p. m. „
The Church of Christ missionary
society met for their monthly meeting
Wednesday with Mm. Geo. Swinney.
Mm. C. C. Farr had charge of the
program which opened with a short
devotional period conducted by Mm.
Mary Weighill and Mm. W. A. Sloan.
A study of Religious Educational In­
stitutions followed, these colleges be- I
ing located in Tennessee, Oklahoma,
Ohio, California, Kentucky and Ore- I
gon, each a separate college and do­
ing a splendid work for a large group
of students.
The Pacific Univemity of Long
Beach, California, is the newest of
these institutions and has for its dean,
George W. Taubman, famous for his
large claas of men who meet each
Sunday morning on the Long Beach
pier for study. This is the largest
men’s class in the brotherhood.
An offering was voted, to be sent
to aid work among the mountaineer
people of Grayson, Kentucky. A fine I
discussion of missionary and relief
work followed, each member having
a definite part on the program.
