Mr. Wise had gone down to the battery mill at Bridge to see the manager about some timber and was sitting-be- hind the saw. A slab of wood sawed from the log flew back and struck him i on the temple. The injured man was rushed to the Mast hospital in Myrtle Point but he never regained conscious ness. Mr. Wise was 34 years the fourth of last March. He was born in the Powers section and had spent his en tire life around here except during the war when he was stationed at Camp Lewis, Washington. He was married February 14, 1926, to Erma Rice. Three children were born to this union: Arthur Lloyd, five years old, Bonita Mae, three, and a baby boy, Albert John, two years old. His mother, Mrs. Bill Richardson, lives near Gaylord. There are two sisters, Grace Carlyle and Hazel Ep person, both of Gaylord, and three brothers: Walter, who is in Califor nia; Harry, in Nevada; and Billy, in Bandon. The father also lives in the Gaylord section. Services were held Friday at the Schroeder chapel, Rev. Mr. Powell as sisting the American Legion in a mil itary funeral. Interment was at Co- quille. - . - - Another brother, Robert, met a tragic death nine years ago when falling timber at Camp 8. A limb struck him on the head killing him in Banana ...
