Our experience, or rather experiment, proves to us that a town, or a very com
pact community sustaining leas than 15,000 population will not successfully sup
port a store of this type, specializing in 8|nPLE MERCAND1SE ONLY, which
of necessity takes a VERY MODEST mark-up, and must depend on a consider
able volume to get a satisfactory profit on the investment.

a year and a half ago, over the protests of his associates. He has not been able to
make a satisfactory showing, so the Directors have ordered'it CLOSED.
As our
next contemplated unit is without the State—too far to profitably ship either
STOCK or FIXTURES, it will be CLOSED OUT ON THE PREMISES—everything
must go. Our lease is up, and it costs real money to run a sale, so we will price it to
GO QUICKLY.

POLO SHIRTS
Worth 98c—now
We have chosen the month of DECEMBER to close out this stock, that the
good people of Coquille and vicinity may have this opportunity to make Holiday
purchases of USEFUL, PRACTICAL, Christinas gifts, which, after all is the
sensible thing to do, this of all years;
Mr. Norton wishes to express his personal appreciation for the support which
has been given our little store; hundreds of people have profited by its existence,
and we do thank you for your support. There just isn’t enough of you to make it
pay on our plan—small profits.
This will not in any way affect our other stores in the County, which will con
tinue to function as they have in the past. And we may be back in Coquille—who
knows?
The Marshfield store, which has been quite successful from its opening three
/ears ago, and now with LARGER quarters, and MORE MERCHANDISE, is gain
ing continuously in popularity. ’*
EVERYTHING in the Coquille store must go,this month, so come early and get
your share of the TREMENDOUS BARGAINS.
