Mrs. Roy Watson gave a lovely
children’s party Friday, November
14th, in honor of her ilttle daughter,
Phyllis Jane, who had just reached
her ninth birthday anniversary that
day. A color scheme of green and
yellow was used on the table where
the children were served.
A pretty
centerpiece of small yellow chrysan­
themums and green tapers added
much to the colorful decorations along
with the lovely birthday cake, fancy
place cards and candy baskets. The
occasion was much enjoyed by the
following: Margaret Stewart, Marion
Hess, Margaret Smith, Rheo Walker,
Touiae Woodyard, Barbara Leslie,
Phyllis Mae Litzenberger and Phyllis
Jane.

The Women’s Missionary society of
the Pioneer Church held their month­
ly silver 'tea Thursday afternoon at
the home of Mrs. Lyman Carrier on
jlpurgeon Hill. Instead of the regu­
lar missionary lesson a Thanksgiving
program was given.
The meeting
was opened by all singing, "All hail •
the power of Jesus’ Name.” Mrs. S.
D. Walters read the 147 psalm as the
scripture lesson. Mrs. W. 8. Smith
lead in prayer. Mrs. Walter Oerding
told of the drigin and purpose of
Thanksgiving day and Mrs. R. B.
Rogers talked on the question, “Do
we observe Thanksgiving day in the'
same spirit that the Pilgrim fathers '
did.” Quite a discussion followed.
Mrs. James Richmond gave an inter­
esting talk on “What does Thanks­
giving mean to me.”

Walker sang two delightful solos.
At a previous meeting the members
were asked to earn a dollar and at
this gathering they told their experi­
ences in earning the money.
A social hour followed and later the
hostesses, Mesdames Lyman Carrier,
Henry Ellis, J. W. McGuffn, served
. delicious refreshments to the follow­
ing members and guests present:;
