The petition for rehearing arrived at
this office with the usual mail delivery
shortly before 8 a. m. on Monday,
Jane 18th. Sometime between 9 and
10 a. m. I was inf d rased by the Ore»
ronian correspondent that Mr. Joseph
had died, ..nd it was auggeated that
under the circumstances perhaps Mr.
John Veatch might wish to withdraw
the petition. I thereupon telephoned
to the office of Joseph, Haney A|
Veatch and was informed that they
preferred to have the petition regu
larly filed.
