R. E. Matthews Dies at Salem

vices there at 1 p. m.
Mr. Matthews died last Saturday at
the hospital in Salem where he had
been taken a couple of months ago.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs.
W. O. Matthews, of Fairview, and
was born near Marshfield, Sept 11,
1898. He had spent his life since a
small boy on his father’s ranch it
Fairview valley.
Besides his parents he leaves two
sisters, Mrs. Elmer Holverstott, of
Coquille, Mrs. Edith Smith, of Port-
Coquille Valley Sentinel
