Antonio Banderas makes his debut as
an action hero in this 1995 Western
from director Robert Rodriguez. A
sequel to “El Mariachi,” the film
follows a guitar-toting gunman as he
sets his sights on a drug lord. Cheech
Marin provides a few laughs in his bit
role as a bartender; Salma Hayek also
stars.
Robert De Niro and director Martin
Scorsese yielded another memorable
collaboration with this 1995 drama of

plays a gambling-den operator who has
to ward off those who would oust him,
with the love of his life (Sharon Stone)
a definite liability to him. Joe Pesci,
who worked previously with De Niro
and Scorsese on “GoodFellas,” co-stars.
