(ORIGINAL) Sarah Steele OF ‘THE GOOD FIGHT’ ON PARAMOUNT+ As “The Good Fight” reaches its end, how do you assess the journey of your character, Marissa Gold? kangaroo-court stuff served the purpose that it needed to, in order for her to come back and approach being a lawyer her own way. I feel like her connection with (Mandy Patinkin’s self-styled judge character last season) had a lot to do with her transition into being a lawyer. She’s gone into this new thing but she’s still Marissa, so her doing a lot of dry paperwork was not going to happen. That’s just not her. What can you say about Alan Cumming, who has played your father Eli Gold on the show? She’s not a typical lawyer, so it made a lot of emotional sense to me that she was not going to be put in a traditional box. I think that He’s been this incredible figure for me. Back when we were on “The Good Wife,” we were doing plays at the same time. We would be on the (series) set all day, then we’d hop in a van together and sleep on our way to our shows, them get out and do them. It did feel like we were this little family, so it was wonderful and beautiful. What do you think of the parallels between some cases on “The Good Fight” and real-life events? There was something cathartic about the way in which (the series) helped me process and understand them. The Kings (executive producers Robert and Michelle King) are so smart, they’ve been on top of things in almost a miraculous, psychic way.
