of Wrexham, an English football team that
is the third oldest club in the world, as they
try to restore the franchise to its former glo-

(“The Event,” “Cloudburst”) comes this
2020 comedy that stars Jacki Weaver
(“Animal Kingdom”) as Maybelline Metcalf,
a conservative church choir director who
inherits a San Francisco drag club following
the death of her estranged gay son, who
started it. Lucy Liu, Adrian Grenier and
Mya Taylor also star.
George Tillman’s 2018 adaptation of Angie
Thomas’ novel stars Amandla Stenberg in a
widely praised performance as Starr Carter,
an African-American teenager who lives in
a predominantly black neighborhood but
attends Whitman Prep, a private school.
Starr faces a crisis after seeing her best friend
fatally shot by a white cop. Regina Hall also
stars.

Jed Rothstein (“WeWork: Or the Making
and Breaking of a $47 Billion Unicorn,”
“Hidden Crisis: Women & AIDS”) wrote
and directed this documentary that tells
the unsettling story of the systematic and
formulaic securities fraud perpetrated by
Chinese companies listed on the U.S. stock
market over the course of decades.
