City of Sumpter
Notice of Measure and
Receipt of Ballot Title
Public notice is hereby given, that
on August 12, 2022, the City of
Sumpter Elections Officer re-
ceived a ballot title for a measure
referred by the City of Sumpter
City Council to voters on the No-
vember 8, 2022, election. Any
elector may file a petition to re-
view the ballot title with Baker
County Circuit Court no later than
5:00pm on August 19, 2022 (the
7th business day after the ballot
title was filed with the City Elec-
tions Officer) under ORS
250.296. The elector may notify
the City Elections Official (City
Recorder) in writing that the peti-
tion has been filed. That notice
must be given no later than
5:00pm on the next business day
following the day the petition is
filed.
The ballot title filed is:
Caption: Permanently prohibits
psilocybin-related
businesses
within the City of Sumpter.
Question: Shall the City of
Sumpter permanently prohibit
psilocybin-related businesses?
Summary: State law allows for
the manufacturing, transporta-
tion, delivery, sale and purchase
of psilocybin, the psychedelic
drug found in certain mushrooms.
State law provides that a local
government may adopt an ordi-
nance to be referred to the voters
to prohibit the establishment of li-
censed psilocybin product manu-
facturers
and/or
psilocybin
service centers. The City Council
of the City of Sumpter adopted an
ordinance to refer to the voters
that permanently prohibits psilo-
cybin-related businesses in the
City of Sumpter.
A “Yes” vote would permanently
prohibit the establishment of
psilocybin product manufacturers
and psilocybin service centers
within the city limits of the City of
Sumpter.
A “No” vote would permit the es-
tablishment of psilocybin product
manufacturers and psilocybin
service centers within the city lim-
its of the City of Sumpter.

CITATION TO PARENT
to Declare:

Control
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
To: ZACHARY TYLER LONG aka SLAVENS:
By order of this court you are hereby advised that you may ap-
pear before the judge presiding in Division E of this court on September
12, 2022 at 9:00 am, then and there to show cause, if any you have,
why CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL SMALLWOOD, should not be declared
free from your custody and control.
The following information concerns rights and procedures that
relate to this proceeding for the termination of custody and control of
CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL SMALLWOOD, and require such protection
the court will appoint counsel to represent them, whether or not they
able to afford counsel. CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL SMALLWOOD, will
not be present in court unless they so request or the court so orders.
2. If a parent of CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL SMALLWOOD, ap-
pears without counsel and is unable to afford counsel, the court must
appoint counsel for the parent, unless the parent knowingly and intel-
ligently waives the right to be represented my counsel. The court will
not appoint the same counsel to represent the minor child and the par-
ent.
3. The court may appoint either a public defender or private
counsel. If private counsel is appointed, he or she will receive a rea-
sonable sum for compensation and expenses, the amount of which will
be determined by the court. That amount must be paid by the real par-
ties in interest, but not by the minor, in such proportions as the court
believes to be just. If, however, the court finds that any of the real par-
ties in interest cannot afford counsel, the amount will be paid by the
county.
4. The court may continue the proceeding for not more than 30
days as necessary to appoint counsel and to enable counsel to be-
come acquainted with the case.

thereby secured and the costs and expenses of sale, including a reasonable charge by the trustee. Notice
is further given to any person named in ORS 86.778 that the right exists, at any time that is not later than
five days before the date last set for the sale, to have this foreclosure proceeding dismissed and the trust

no record legal or equitable interest in the subject property will only receive information concerning the
lender’s estimated or actual bid. Lender bid information is also available at the trustee’s website,
www.logs.com/janeway_law_firm. In construing this notice, the masculine gender includes the feminine and
the neuter, the singular includes the plural, the word “grantor” includes any successor in interest to the
grantor as well as any other person owing an obligation, the performance of which is secured by said trust
deed, and the words “trustee” and “beneficiary” include their respective successors in interest, if any. Also,
please be advised that pursuant to the terms stated on the Deed of Trust and Note, the beneficiary is allowed
to conduct property inspections while property is in default. This shall serve as notice that the beneficiary
shall be conducting property inspections on the said referenced property. Without limiting the trustee’s dis-
claimer of representations or warranties, Oregon law requires the trustee to state in this notice that some
residential property sold at a trustee’s sale may have been used in manufacturing methamphetamines, the
chemical components of which are known to be toxic. Prospective purchasers of residential property should
be aware of this potential danger before deciding to place a bid for this property at the trustee’s sale. The
Fair Debt Collection Practice Act requires that we state the following: This is an attempt to collect a debt,
and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. If a discharge has been obtained by any party
through bankruptcy proceedings: This shall not be construed to be an attempt to collect the outstanding in-
debtedness or hold you personally liable for the debt.

YOUR BIRTHDAY by Stella Wilder
Born today, you possess a certain unique
power that is undeniable, and if you learn to
control and shape it, and direct it creatively
and in a positive fashion, it will serve you well
again and again throughout your lifetime,
personally and professionally. You may seem
soft-spoken, but when the circumstances are
just right, you will break forth with such
explosive energy that no one had better stand
in your way.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 18
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- Some may label
you foolish, but that idea you’ve been flirting
with lately is worth exploring more fully. Start
today if you can.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- You may
find yourself at cross-purposes with someone
who has been on your side in the past. What
happened recently to upset the status quo?
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) -- All that you
are asked to do today, and more, can be done
in the amount of time allotted -- provided you
don’t get distracted.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) -- Though
you usually don’t care much one way or the
other, today the fact that people are talking
about you will certainly pique your interest.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) -- If
you’re unwilling to conform to the norm
today, you must be ready to compete with
those who have a keen advantage. You can
prevail.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) -- You
may have to curb your enthusiasm for a cer-
tain idea today, as others find it objectionable
-- and you mustn’t rock the boat right now.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) -- You and a
friend may have occasion to look back upon
old times -- but doing so inspires an idea that
can benefit both of you very soon.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) -- Surface
notions aren’t for you today; you want to dig
deeper and see what’s really going on beneath
the surface. Someone wants to join you.
ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- Your excite-
ment over a certain endeavor is likely to wane
somewhat today when you realize just how
much it is taking out of you.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- You’re not
about to believe the hype that someone is
spreading about an idea whose time has
apparently come. You know different.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- Any path
that leads you in a straight line is worth fol-
lowing today. You don’t want to find yourself
winding here and there, purposeless.
CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- Someone
close to you may not understand why you are
doing what you are doing, and the best expla-
nation you can give is, of course, success.
