The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Adminis-
tration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from Lib-
erty Theatre Foundation to complete renovations of the Liberty Theatre
in La Grande, Union County, Oregon. Pursuant to the National Envi-
ronmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act
(NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the pro-
posed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties.
The property is currently not functional for any purpose, leaving a va-
cant building in historic downtown La Grande. The proposed scope of
work will complete key building restorations and improvements for the
Liberty Theatre, located at 1010 Adams Avenue in La Grande, OR, in
order to return the theatre to operation. The LTF has completed Phases
I and II of construction, which included the first wave of façade restora-
tion activities, as well as the demolition of the interior to prepare the
theatre for restoration and asbestos abatement. Phase III included
preparing the theatre for an occupancy permit, which the LTF now
plans to have acquired by the end of Q3 2022. The LTF will then now
turn its attention to Phase IV. These EDA grant funds would be used
for final refurbishment of the theatre. It will including final plumbing fix-
tures, electrical work, wall and floor finishing, final carpentry, and finish
work on the roughed-out exterior canopy. With this funding, the Liberty
Theatre can realize its goal of a grand opening in late-2022 or early-
2023. Project information is available for review at the Liberty Theatre:
1010 Adams Ave. La Grande, OR 97850 or by emailing:

YOUR BIRTHDAY by Stella Wilder
Born today, you are without a doubt one of
the most forward-thinking and capable indi-
viduals born under your sign, and though you
may be presented with more than your share
of hardships and challenges in your lifetime,
the fact is that you will be able to do more
with less almost all the time -- exceeding the
expectations of others, and even outdoing
them, at virtually every turn.
TUESDAY, JUNE 28
CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- Your prin-
ciples alone will get you only so far today, but
with a little creative rearranging, you can
avoid another’s attempts to hem you in.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- You’re concerned
with right and wrong today -- and more so
than most, very likely. You must trust your
instincts when adjudicating another.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- Take care
that you don’t trap yourself by laying down
Firewood $220 in the rounds
4”-12” in DIA, $250 split.
Other varieties of wood and
logs available. Delivered in the

YOUR BIRTHDAY by Stella Wilder
Born today, you are destined to accomplish
much in your lifetime, and yet you will do so
not with the intention of impressing others,
but rather of proving to yourself just what
you’re capable of at any given time in your
life. Indeed, your life is likely to unfold
according to various phases, and in each
phase, you are likely to accomplish something
different -- and yet no less remarkable than
what you’ve done before.
MONDAY, JUNE 27
CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- You’re in for
something of a bonding experience with a
friend or loved one -- but things may take an
unusual turn that heightens the fun.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- Plans made today
aren’t likely to pan out exactly as hoped as
early as tomorrow, so if possible, you must put
them into motion before nightfall.

SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 2022
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- You may
have reason to regret your behavior to some-
one who was in no position to disagree or
fight back. You can undo the damage today.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) -- You mustn’t
let your eagerness to get along give someone
the impression that you’re an easy mark. Be
discerning at all times!
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) -- If voicing
your opinions is going to give others cause for
concern, so be it. You cannot be expected to
answer for how others react to you.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) -- Your
actions may give rise to criticism or even
suspicion in the minds of those who don’t
understand what you’re up to. Stay the course.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) -- You
may receive a proposal from someone with a
big plan who is seeking someone with the
resources to see it through. Is that you?
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) -- Now is
the law in a way that cannot be reinterpreted
or adjusted in some way. Be flexible.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) -- You may be
susceptible to something that threatens you in
a new way -- but remembering a past triumph
gives you what you need to prevail.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) -- Now is the
time to see your work through to its logical
conclusion -- and not just some of it, but all of
it. Someone is surely watching you.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) -- A
slim line exists between what you need and
what you want, and you’ll have to negotiate
carefully with yourself to avoid blurring it.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) --
Confusion results from too many people
going after what they want with abandon --
but today, you can be the sensible one who
saves the day.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) -- You can
work and play well with others today, though
it will be clear from the outset which one you
the time to impress others with your ability to
see all sides of a very important issue. You
must leave no stone unturned!
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) -- You under-
stand more than you are letting on about
someone’s behavior -- but now is not the time
to reveal just how much. Be patient!
ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- Others may
consider you something of an expert when it
comes to a key issue raised by someone in
your circle -- but are you really?
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- Your strong
will enables you to stand firm today while
others wither at the sight of something that
carries with it a potential threat.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- Your loyalty
may be put to the test today by someone who
makes what you might call a careless mistake.
In the end, your bond remains unbroken.

really want to do. Work comes first!
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) -- You must
listen to those inner voices today if you’re
going to make a decision in time for it to
count. You know what choice is best.
ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- You may
have to make an unexpected sacrifice today
-- but fear not, for you’ll get back all that you
give, and then some, very soon.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- You’re
eager to know why someone is doing some-
thing that seems to make a mockery of all
good intentions. You must ask the right ques-
tions.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- Be careful
that you don’t take a negative approach to
something new today. Saying “I haven’t yet” is
just fine; avoid saying “I can’t.”
