Some matches were can- celed due to the chilly con- ditions, Baker coach Amy Younger said. In boys singles, Daniel Cun- ningham soundly defeated Alan Gonzalez 6-0, 6-1. In the No. 2 boys singles match, Baker’s Caleb Hills was almost as dominant in beating Jorge Martinez, 6-1, 6-1. Ashton LeTourneau split the first two sets against Mar- cus Grimaldo before finishing strong, winning the match, 6-1, 2-6, 6-0. Anthony Christopher won a second-set tiebreaker over Eric Torres to complete the boys singles sweep, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). Boys doubles had rougher outcomes, with the No. 1 team of Ethan Hills and Jayden Yencopal losing a close match to Keagan Maupin and Koda Alvarez, 7-5, 6-4. Noah Lien and Weston Downing fell to Carlos Beltran and Mario Gastelum, 6-2, 6-2. Baker’s Lincoln Nemec and Diego Jones-Bedolla prevented a Four Rivers sweep of the boys doubles matches, beating Angel Martinez and Fermin Gonzales, 6-0, 7-5. In girls singles, Baker’s No. 1, Sarah Plummer, lost the first set in a tiebreaker but rallied to beat Erin Hawker, 6-7 (8-6), 6-2, 6-4. In the No. 2 girls singles, Baker’s Isabel Cunningham had little trouble against Mia Clayton, 6-0, 6-2. In girls doubles, Maya Smith and Olivia Jacoby beat Livi and Adriana Chavez, 6-1, 6-3. Tristen Tritt and Campbell Vanderwiele faced Clair Rob- ins and Nicole Alvarez, losing a tight match, 6-4, 7-5.
