Set during the first outbreak of the bubon-
ic plague in England, this 2010 actioner
from co-writer/director Christopher Smith
(“Triangle,” “Severance”) follows Ulric (Sean
Bean, “Snowpiercer”), a young monk who
leads a group of soldiers to a mysterious vil-
lage where rumors are spreading that a nec-
romancer is raising plague victims from the
dead. Eddie Redmayne, Carice van Houten
and Kimberley Nixon also star.
