A GRANDE — Side A Brew-
ing is once again celebrat-
ing the dark days of winter with
a special festival.
The Dead of Winter Festival
is happening Saturday, Feb. 19,
6-9 p.m., on the back patio of
Side A, 1219 Washington Ave.
“There will be lawn games,
bonfi res, small bites food, and
word on the street is Travis
Hansen is bringing back his
famous Side A Chili just for the
event,” said Caiti Burke, Side A
event coordinator.
She said the event includes
access to the brewery.
“Anyone who hasn’t had a
chance to tour our brewery will
get to see it close up,” she said.
There is no cover for the fes-
tival, and all ages are welcome.
Burke said there will be a
token system for purchasing
and tasting beers.
For the festival, Side A will
have six beers — three from

guest taps have never — to
our knowledge — been avail-
able on tap in Eastern Oregon
before,” Burke said.
She said most of the featured
beers will be “dark and strong.”
The Dead of Winter Festival
will be separate from normal
dining in the pub. Since this is
held all outside, attendees are
encouraged to dress warm.
