Magazine N ORTH POWDER — Visitors to Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort are fi nding plentiful snow this winter. “It’s amazing. It’s the best cov- erage we’ve had in a long time,” said Chelsea Judy, marketing director for Anthony Lakes. The most current weather and snow conditions can be found at www.anthonylakes.com. Judy said the all runs on the mountain are open, and the trails for Nordic skiing are groomed. She said cross-country skiing has been popular this year. “It’s a good family get-outside activity,” she said. The ski resort is open Thurs- day-Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 5TH AND 6TH GRADE SUNDAYS Anthony Lakes is again of- fering a special free program for youth in fi fth and sixth grades. The program runs on Sundays SUPPORT LOCAL THURSDAYS On Thursdays, bring a recent receipt showing you spent $40 or more (within seven days of your visit) at a small, locally owned shop or restaurant, and purchase a lift ticket for $25 at the ticket booth when you arrive. Youth register from 8:30- 9:45 a.m. in the lower level of the main lodge. Bring a school ID or current report card. An accompanying adult receives a $25 lift ticket if they want to ski. There is no need to pre-purchase or pre-register. The discount is received at registration. This winter’s program started Jan. 9 and runs through Febru- ary. Youth who attend seven of the eight Sundays may then purchase a season pass for the remaining season and following winter for $150. ALICE’S WONDERLAND Alice’s Wonderland, the newly named learning area, is now home to the Caterpillar Con- veyor, Mad Hatter Handle Tow and Rabbit Hole Terrain Park, which has beginner features such as a ride-on box and small jumps. A dedication of these new features is planned for later this season.
