PAINTED SKY
BAKER CITY — The Baker County
Public Library is launching a new ses-
sion of StoryArt Fridays with Missy
Grammon. There is space for 12 young-
sters, who will read a story with Gram-
mon and then explore a different art
medium each week.
The program starts Friday, Jan. 21.
Pre-registration is required — stop by the
library, 2400 Resort St., or call 541-523-
6419.
CANYON CITY — Angel Carpenter,
owner of WILDbrushes Art with Angel,
will teach a class to create a “Snowman
and Barn” painting on Saturday, Jan. 15,
1-3:30 p.m. at Painted Sky Center for the
Arts, 118 Washington St. Registration is
$36 members or $40 nonmembers.
On Friday, Jan. 21, Clair Kehrberg will
lead a workshop on stamping and painting
a leather bracelet. This is for ages 14 and
older. Registration is $67.50 members or
$75 nonmembers.

CULINARY FUNDRAISER
HERMISTON — Mark your calendars
for the Crockpot Creation fundraiser.
Crockpot cooks are encouraged to en-
ter their culinary creations — and others
are invited to put their taste buds to the
test as judges. There will be a bake sale,
too.
The tasty fundraiser is Sunday, Jan.
16, 3-5 p.m. at Hermiston Church of the
Nazarene, 1520 W. Orchard Ave. There
is no fee to enter your favorite concoc-

ticipants in the Elevate Student Ministry

EXHIBIT AT ART CENTER EAST
LA GRANDE — “The Big,” Art Center East’s
annual open exhibit, fi lls the main and co-op
galleries with works by Pacifi c Northwest art-
ists in a wide range of artistic mediums.
The show continues through Jan. 29,
although a closing reception — with the
announcement of the People’s Choice
award — is Friday, Jan. 14, 6-8 p.m.
The galleries are open to the public and
admission is always free. ACE, 1006 Penn
Ave., is open Wednesday through Friday
noon-5 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
