Magazine B AKER CITY — Here’s a look at what you can find during the First Friday art walk on Friday, Dec. 3, in downtown Baker City. CROSSROADS CARNEGIE ART CENTER 2020 Auburn Ave. The annual “Gift of Art” open Christmas show begins with a reception on First Friday from 5:30-8 p.m. The focus of this ex- hibit is to offer a way to support local artists while shopping for holiday gifts. “We will have fine arts, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, and many other mediums, so there will surely be something special for everyone to find for them- selves, or someone they love,” said Alyson Spiering, commu- nity art director. Crossroads also has the Ornament Expo going through Dec. 24. “Be sure to go on a trea- sure hunt through our 12-foot Christmas tree and the dance studio mirror to find yourself a locally made Christmas orna- ment,” Spiering said. There is still time to enter items in these two shows. Those interested in entering ornament art or gift pieces for The Gift of Art show can stop by Crossroads (10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday), or visit the Quick Forms link at www.crossroads-arts.org. ROYAL ARTISAN 1912 Main St. Royal Artisan will be show- ing watercolors by Janni Kerns in December. The opening re- ception will be 5-8 p.m. Friday. CHURCHILL HALL PASS GALLERY 3451 Broadway St. Churchill will feature a small works show highlighting a variety of artists, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday. ROOM 31 SCULPTURE GARDEN 3451 Broadway St. Located inside Churchill School, this gallery features sculptures and paintings by local and regional artists. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. on First Friday. SUNN JUICE + DECOR 1917 Main St. This new shop, which offers juice/smoothie options and specialty linens and other home decor, will be open late for First Friday featuring photography by Drew Smith. BAKER HERITAGE MUSEUM Every month, the Baker Heritage Museum is having a pop-up exhibit at a downtown location. December’s display will be at CASA, 2025 Main St., and feature sleigh bells and other wintery artifacts from the museum’s collection. SWEET WIFE BAKING 2028 Main St. This bakery will stay open late on First Friday, featuring work by Andrew Gettle. OTHER LOCATIONS Other businesses in down- town Baker City often stay open late on First Friday, so be sure to explore.
