Art centers offer locally crafted
items during the holiday season
‘ART OF THE GIFT’ OPEN
NOW IN PENDLETON
PENDLETON — The Pendle-
ton Center for the Arts is con-
necting shoppers directly with
the region’s artists and crafts-
people with “The Art of the Gift”
exhibit that runs through Dec.
31. This year marks the 20th
year of The Art of the Gift, and
PCA Director Roberta Lavadour
said the event is known for
bringing to Pendleton some of
the best functional and wearable
art made in the Northwest.
“It is designed to provide ac-
cess to gifts that are out of the
ordinary, and many of the fea-
tured items are one-of-a-kind,”
she said.
In addition to shopping, which
will be available until the end of
December, guests of all ages
can take part in drop-in, make-
and-take projects each Saturday.
The art center is open Tues-
day through Friday from 10 a.m.-
4 p.m. and Saturday from noon-4
p.m. More information is avail-

is decorated with handcrafted
ornaments.
