play in Ukiah

KIAH — The Inland North-
west Musicians will pres-
ent the Inland Northwest
Chorale, under the direction of
R. Lee Friese, in concert at the
Ukiah School on Saturday, Nov.
13, at 4 p.m.
At 3:30 p.m., prior to the
chorale concert, the string
orchestra from Ukiah will per-
form a short concert under the
direction of Sue Friese.
Admission is free and dona-
tions are welcome. Following
the concert there will be a soup
and bread meal provided by
the Ukiah community for all in
attendance. Per Oregon state
mandate and school policy,
the audience members will be
required to wear masks.
Selections to be performed
include “Down to the River to
Pray” from the motion picture
“O Brother Where Art Thou”;
“Beautiful Savior,” a Silesian
folk tune by Munster Gesang-
buch; “Grant Us Thy Peace” by
F. Mendelssohn; “Just a Closer

Walk with Thee”; “Alleluia” by
Ralph Manuel; “No Time”, “Do
Lord”, a spiritual arranged by
Ruth Elaine Schram; and “Go Ye
Now in Peace”
The Inland Northwest Cho-
rale is INWM’s vocal ensemble.
The chorale performs indepen-
dently, as well as joining with
the Inland Northwest Orches-
tra to perform major choral/
orchestral works and holiday
offerings. The chorale currently
rehearses in Pendleton.
The Ukiah concert was
originally scheduled for March
2020, but was postponed due
to the pandemic. This is the
first time since the pandemic
started that the chorale has
been able to perform, although
rehearsals started in July of
2021 in preparation for this
concert.
Founded in 1999, Inland
Northwest Musicians is com-
posed of volunteer musicians
from throughout Eastern Or-
egon and Southwestern Wash-
ington. INWM performance
ensembles include the Inland
Northwest Orchestra, Inland
Northwest Chorale, and Willow
Creek Symphony, all of which
present concerts throughout
the region in communities of all
sizes. Admission to all concerts
is free, funded by corporate
sponsors, grants, local concert
sponsorships and individual
