A third show for high school students will begin at noon on Monday, Nov. 15. The upcoming performance is part of a global effort to cel- ebrate and commemorate the reopening of live theater, and features a medley of hits from classic Broadway musicals like “Rent,” “Hairspray,” and more. Students in the EOU Music De- partment, Theater Department and Chamber Choir will join a chorus of over 2,500 schools and theaters concurrently per- forming the production on its premier weekend. “Basically, it’s celebrating Broadway’s reopening and us coming out of quarantine and starting to be able to move forward with live theater. It’s a great fundraiser for us, plus it’s great to be part of this thing that is so worldwide,” said The- atre Professor Kenn Wheeler, who is directing the show. “Every song kind of matches the theme of, ‘let’s put the bad behind us and start forward on a new day.’” Tickets for the weekend shows are $15 per seat, or $10 for groups of 10 or more. Admission is free for EOU students. These shows are a fundraiser for the theater and music programs at EOU. About 300 tickets will be sold for each performance.
