Magazine BAKER CITY — The first musi- cian to grace the stage at Churchill School is returning this weekend. But this time Bart Budwig won’t play to a live audience — instead, the concert will be livestreamed for viewers to enjoy from home. The music starts at 7 p.m. Satur- day, April 24. To access the concert, go to YouTube and search for “Churchill School Art, Music, Recreation.” Budwig will be joined by Jen Borst in this duo concert. “I’ve been practicing, so that’s ex- citing,” Budwig said, a laugh in his voice as he gave a phone interview from his home in Enterprise. In a typical year, Budwig travels to play his music. “Normally I’d be touring about half the year, 150 shows or more,” he said. Not during the coronavirus pandemic. In the past year he’s helped bands make records, worked at the Range Rider in Enterprise, and worked on construction projects. But he’s staying with a friend while the theater receives renovations to its facade, plumbing and electrical systems. He said the improvements should be finished later this year. In the meantime, there may be more chances to play music.
