Northeast Oregon TV Weekly October 25 - 31, 2020 l 3 BY JAY BOBBIN Laura Osnes OF ‘ONE ROYAL HOLIDAY’ ON HALLMARK CHANNEL You made the movie “A Homecoming for the Holidays” last year, and you’ve drawn upon your Broadway talents for seasonal musical specials. Is it safe to assume you could tap into the Christmas feeling easily again for “One Royal Holiday”? Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday, just the reason for it and family and food and togetherness and generosity. It evokes such positive memories for me, and the values for what the season stands for mean a lot to me. I was very happy to be experiencing such joy again (in making the new movie), baking and tree-decorating and being cozy. And that was in the middle of July, so I love Christmas at any time of the year. You have a scene in “One Royal Holiday” in which your character and a visiting prince (played by Aaron Tveit) dance a waltz. Did you already know those steps, or did you have to learn them for the movie? Funny you should ask! We did not have a choreographer, and I saw in the script, “They dance as if they’ve been dancing together for years.” The day before we were supposed to shoot that scene, I said to Aaron, “What are we doing?” So, I choreographed it. We went to the parking lot, we worked on it, and we created that dance that you see in the movie. I was inspired by a few different waltz scenes that I have known and loved over the years. “I Don’t Want To Lose Weight Safely, Healthfully, and Rapidly,” ...Said No One, Ever! If you’d like to lose weight gained over the past few months—Or 10 to 150+ pounds that you’ve struggled to lose for some time, come see us. “One Royal Holiday” was filmed as television production was ramping back up slowly during the coronavirus pandemic. How were the conditions while you made the movie? “We continue to help men, women, and adolescents lose 10 to 150+ pounds safely, healthfully, and rapidly. If you struggle to lose weight and keep it off, come see us, we can help.” Our whole cast and crew was quarantined together on location (in Connecticut). The movie takes place at an inn, and we all stayed at the inn. We were required to wear masks whenever we weren’t on camera, we were tested every five days, and our temperatures were taken every morning. We had zero positive COVID tests the whole time we were there, for four weeks. I was very proud of how our production team and all of the people involved adhered to the rules and really wanted to make this work. We were there for a week before we started shooting, so an environment for safety was created. James Garner BY JOHN CROOK James R. Kopp, MD Weight Loss Physician —James R.
