The Pottery Studio is open! In order to adhere to all safety guidelines,
the studio is available to all pottery pass holders through a reservation
system. Call the staff at Crossroads to reserve some creative time in the
studio! Members are also eligible to rent a pottery wheel to use at home!

In October, the Sumpter Valley Railroad offers fall foliage rides and
Halloween trains, with visits to the “haunted” Sumpter Dredge.

scheduled in October
SUMPTER — The colors are
changing for autumn and the
Sumpter Valley Railroad will again
offer fall foliage trains in October.
The special foliage runs are set
for Oct. 9, 10 and 11, leaving from
the McEwen Station at 10 a.m. and
1:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The
one Sunday train departs at noon.
Halloween trains
Later in October, SVRR gets
in to the spirit with several days
of “short runs” for the Halloween
season departing from the Sumpter
Station.
Halloween trains on Oct. 23
depart at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Passengers may visit the “haunted”
Sumpter Dredge.
On Oct. 24, the trains will leave
at 2 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. On
these trips, passengers may tour
the haunted dredge and also have
the opportunity to gather goodies
at the annual trunk-or-treat.
Tickets & safety
Tickets must be purchased in
advance at www.sumptervalleyrail-
road.org. Riders must then print
the tickets and bring them to the
depot.
Fares vary depending on the
trip and the age of the passengers.
There are discounts for seniors and
members of the military. Age 3 and
younger ride free.
COVID-19 safety precautions
according to Oregon’s guidelines
will be in place, and face coverings
are required.
Windows and doors may be left
open on the train — passengers
are encouraged to dress for cold
weather.
