Meet the symphony online
EASTERN OREGON — The
public is invited to “Meet the
Members of the Oregon East Sym-
phony” at a free online and radio
broadcast recital Sunday, May 31,
at 7 p.m.
String musicians from OES
(violin, viola, cello) will perform
unaccompanied works for either
a solo instrument or duo. The
virtual event also will feature brief
Q&A sessions with the musicians
focusing on their biographical and
educational background, associa-
tion with OES, particulars about
their instrument, and fun personal
factoids.
The one-hour recital can be
viewed from the OES website
(www.oregoneastsymphony.org) or
on its YouTube channel (youtube.
com/c/OregonEastSymphony).
For audience members who don’t
have the internet or prefer not to
watch the concert on a screen, the
recital will concurrently be broad-
cast over 104.3 KCUW.
The Q&A sessions will be moder-
ated by OES Executive Director
J.D. Kindle. Audience members
may submit questions for the musi-
cians ahead of time to director@
oregoneastsymphony.org or via the
YouTube chat during the recital.
Instructions on how to log into a
virtual post-recital reception will
be provided at the conclusion of the
performance.

ART CENTER EAST GOES DIGITAL

East now has online classes. The
classes allow you to engage in the
joy and power of art online via

A Co-Op Gallery exhibit,
“Embrace the Unknown,” opens
digitally June 1. The exhibit
features the fl uid acrylic paintings
of local artist Theresa Henderson.
In order to inspire future artists,
Henderson is donating 50% of all
sales from the exhibit to the ACE
Youth Scholarship Fund.
