distanced in-person classes

‘In Your House’ party is May 30
BAKER CITY — The next “In
Your House” party streaming
live from Churchill will feature
Moogyman, an original three-piece
psychedelic rock band local to
Baker City.
Founded by keyboardist Blake
Musselman, Moogyman is inspired
by a combination of his original
compositions and artwork and uses
handmade fl orescent costumes and
props.
The music starts at 7 p.m. Satur-

Art classes start up again
for firefighters
■ Limited schedule offered at Crossroads Carnegie Art Center
BAKER CITY — With safety
precautions in place, Crossroads
Carnegie Art Center is again offer-
ing art classes to the community.
Students are encouraged to pay
online at www.crossroads-arts.org.
Face coverings are required in the
building. There will be no sharing
of tools, and students who need
hydration can bring water bottles.
Crossroads is closed on Satur-
days until June when current con-
ditions will be assessed. Saturday
teachers have keys to access the
building for classes.
Following are the current class
offerings.
•฀ Becky Litke’s Learn to Love
Watercolor and Pastels class
resumes June 3. This meets
Wednesdays and students
can choose one of two ses-
sions: 3-5 p.m. or 5-7 p.m.
Cost is $16 per session for
members, $24 nonmembers.
•฀ Beginning Abstract Painting
with Hillery Lay is set for
June 6 from 6-8 p.m. This is
for ages 21 and older. Cost is
$16 members, $24 nonmem-
bers ($14 supply fee for all
students).
•฀ Open Painting and Drawing
Studio is offered on Tues-
days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The cost is $5 per month for
Crossroads members. There
is no instructor; this is a
time to work individually on
2-D projects.
•฀ Adult Open Studio with
Paul Hoelscher is held Sat-
urdays from 1-3 p.m. This
class is for ages 18 and older.
Cost is $16 per session for
members or $24 for non-
members. Another payment
option is four sessions for
$54 members or $86 for
nonmembers. This ongoing
studio is an opportunity for
people to work in a variety of
art medium and learn new
techniques.
