Baker to host hoops seeding games
Baker’s girls and boys
basketball teams will play in
Greater Oregon League seed-
ing games Saturday evening
in the Baker gym.
The Bulldogs’ opponents
will be decided this evening in
La Grande, where La Grande
will play Mac-Hi in both girls
and boys contests.
The winners of those
games will travel to Baker for
Saturday’s games. The girls
game will tip off at 6 p.m.,
and the boys around 7:30 p.m.
Saturday’s games will
determine the No. 1 and No.
2 seeds from the GOL in the
Class 4A playoffs.
Both Baker teams have
already clinched berths in
the playoffs, which are set for
March 6 (girls) and March 7
(boys).

man was released from a Florida hospital on
Wednesday, two days after his frightening
crash on the fi nal lap of the Daytona 500.

relay teams also will compete
at state.
The Baker boys wrestling
team will compete in the dis-
trict tournament Friday and
Saturday at Ontario.
The team said the 42-year-old Indiana na-
tive “continues to show great improvement.”
The team added that “true to his jovial nature,
he has also been joking around with staff,
friends and family while playing with his two
daughters” and included a photo of Newman
standing in a hospital gown, smiling.
