Upcoming Events and News Crossroads Annual Meeting Wednesday, March 11, 2020 6:30pm in the Upstairs Studio Please come and join the Board of Directors and staff for the Annual Meeting of the Crossroads Corporation. Per our by-laws, Crossroads has an annual meeting to elect new board members, make by-law changes and to share a full update of the organization from the prior year. Light refreshments will be served and this is open to the public. Ballots to elect board members go to Members of the Corporation which are Members in good standing of Crossroads. Ballots will be mailed to all members around January 18th. Ballots must be returned to Crossroads by March 11th at 5:00pm, we don’t count postmarks. We have only the election of John Rademacher to the board of directors on the Ballot. Please come and join us and hear about a very successful 2019! New Website Business Memberships Crossroads is working with GiveCloud, our e- commerce provider who is building us a simple and easy to use website. Our current site is very outdated on the backside making it diffi cult and in some cases impossible to update the site. Websites are becoming the “reference libraries” of organizations with Social Media being the quick response to all groups. This website will more effectively allow you to pay for classes, buy membership, check the Crossroads calendar and still have our Quick Forms to allow artists to print out needed inventory sheets or get the latest call to artists. Staff will have access to all parts of the site so we can keep things current. But as always any transition like this create new challenges as we work out the bugs. Facebook will continue to be that instant message platform through this transition. Please be patient! Crossroads Membership Committee put together a new Business membership program that we are fi nally rolling out. Crossroads is mailing our new Business membership forms to all current businesses in our database and we hope to get around to all local businesses. We recognize that many of our business owners want to support our efforts but don’t want to do a family membership. We have created a $100 membership that gives the benefi ts of a family membership to the business owner and still promotes the business. We also have larger donor levels which enable you to receive the business membership, sponsor First Friday and get coupons for your employees. Check it out online (www.crossroads-arts.org) or pick a form up at Crossroads or board members will be stopping by. Thank You to Those Funders for Supporting our All-Abilities Classroom Kinsman Foundation, NW Farm Credit, Oregon Cultural Trust, Union Pacifi c Foundation, Leo Adler Foundation and Buerkel Zoellner Foundation. Donors from Crossroads Gala and donors from our #givingtuesday campaign on Facebook. All Abilities Classroom Update – Be watching for changes! Crossroads wanted to update you on the upcoming work to transform our downstairs studio into an All- Abilities Studio. Crossroads was inspired by Community Force, to assure that we were welcoming to all people. We have been working with Access Gallery in Denver Colorado to assist us in how we can make our facilities user friendly to people in wheelchairs, walkers, blind, deaf and the list goes on. We have one more grant still pending so you will begin to see changes at Crossroads in the weeks ahead. What is coming: • One sink lowered • Portable ramp to provide access to the stage. • Universally designed chairs for adults and children. • Adjustable tables and equipment which will allow access to the creative process. • A new sound system with new speakers and improved microphones. • Sound baffl ing in the downstairs studio • New counters throughout the building • And More!
