Mr. McLane gave the operators time to get their stocks cleaned up as many of them had several punchboards and candy which would have resulted in a loss. Yesterday, however, the chief gave notice that the boards were to be banned after last night and in some places the punches were being sold at a discount. Chief McLean states that any pe.son operating a punch board will be subject to arrest.
