“Eddie” Smiles in Defeat
Todor Alexandroff, Macedonia« Rebel
Loader, Startles th« People
of Belgrads.
Belgrade.—While tbe Serbian gov- :
eminent Is offering a price for him, !
dead or alive. Todor Alexandroff, tbe
Macedonian v^bel leader, entered into
Serblun politics the other day with
an article on the first page of the Re
pública. which made Belgradlans rub
their eyes.
After pointing out that in bls opin
ion Serbians mistakenly ascribe the
unrest in Macedonia to the Incompe
tent Pashitch administration, to provo
cations from Bulgaria, .to the "traitor”
Ra ditch or to the "cruel” Alexandroff,
Alexandroff writes, over his signature
as a member of the central committee
of the Internal Macedonian organiza
tion: "All oppressed nationalities
who Jealously guard their nationality
are struggling shoulder to shoulder
to attain their right to self-determina
tion.
"After they have won their auton
omy, they will be In a position to or
ganize a great federated state with
equal rights for all nationalities.
“Neither a powerful government,
able to repress the activities of revo
lutionary bands, nor a good adminis
tration can prevent the dissolution
of imperialistic Yugo-Slavia. The op
pressed nationalities in Serbia are
struggling neither for the attainment
of a strong chauvinistic government
nor for a wise Serbian administration
(two Incompatible terms), but for
their liberties.
"In closing I wish to quote the
words of Mazzini in 1848 about tbe
Austrians:
"That you govern well is not what
we desire, but that you depart.”
