During the calendar year of 1923. according to this report, these auto stage lines, numbering 670. carried 29,202,073 passengers and 833,245 tons of freight. This was an in crease of approximately 8,000,000 passengers over 1922. The invest ment in equipment of the auto stage companies runs over 3i3.500.000. and 1.665 passenger and 1,276 freight carrying cars are used.
