P. I—Attacked by a huge eagle near here recently, three small children battled with the bird until they had broken one of Its wings and one leg before they could effect an escape. The children bad been hunt ing for squirrel traps in a field near their home when the bird swooped down upon them. One of the youngsters instinctively raised his hands above his head and the eagle sunk his talon in to the child’s flesh.
