Varn«*r Gets Contract—
The contract for the building of
the bridge over Williams creek near
the mouth of Powell’s creek was a-|
warded at the meeting of the county
court yesterday to J. A. Varner, a
local contractor. Tbe amount of the' —
bid was $1 778, the structure to be a
wooden bridge with a 64-foot span.
There were six other bidders, the
highest being $.’630. It is expected
that work will start soon.
