boys and girls of Oregon between the
ages of » and IS. who make the best
showing in the economical raising of
a litter of four pigs
These four
pigs must be litter mates and may bel
either purebred« or grades In other
words, they do not have to be régis
tered. They can be of either sex
The rules of this pig raising contest
are as follows:
1. The boys or girls must take the I
individual weight of their littvw of |
four pigs at weaning time
2. They must keep a record of the
amount and the cost of feed
3. They must take the Individual
weight of the pigs at the time they
are to be exhibited at the Pacific In­
ternational livestock

Exposition
which will be about the middle
November.
4. The pigs will be judged upon
their general appearance, rate of
gain during the period of feeding,
cost of making that gain, and the
clearness of the record showing these
results.
5. The record showing the above
will be presented to the judges for
their consideration at the livestock
show.
A car of livestock will go from Jo­
sephine County to the International
Livestock Exposition in November
and arrangements can be made by
the boys and eirls to have their fin­
ished litter of four pigs go along with
the shipment.
The local banks have agreed
loan the boys and girls the money
to make the purchase, and arrange­
ments can *be made through the
county agent’s office to secure Berk­
shire. Duroc Jersey or Hampshire
pigs
Any boy or girl interested in
this proposition should take the mat­
ter up immediately and complete ar­
rangements before the first of June.
It will be too later after that date.
There are a limited number of litters
available, and the boys and girls who
sign up first will secure these litters
