ment. It has gone safely through the

tween the two departments, the me­

Thus a double Inspection Is develoiied.
In this department the bearings are
reamed mid scraped, all hearings test­
ed by dial Indicator tests for clear­
ance, valves ground and tested for
leaks. Cylinder blocks which have
been drawn from stock and valves
which have n»s«ed the factory Inspec­
tor’s test, after assembly are often
found leaky and do not come up to A.
R. D. test. Tills test consists of Alling
the intake port hole with gasoline, and
from inside the cylinder around the
seat of the valve forcing a (30-pound
air pressure. A valve which Is. after
texting by gasoline seepage, to all np
pearances O. K.. will frequently fall
with this air test. After the different
parts are assembled and the motor Is
ready for timing, the ignition parts are
drawn from that department and in-
stalled.

of attention locally by his ability.
Following his fight he went to Eu­
gene. where he wan arrested for for­
gery. He was convicted and sent to
the penitentiary, where he has been
confined for some time. According
to the dispatch from Salem Demellla
won from Jack Edwards in the third
round of a hard fought battle staged
in the auditorium of the »tate peni­
tentiary. The event was the head­
liner of a »even bout program. When
the referee called time Edward» was
hanging over the ropes. By winning
this bout Demeilia is now the light­ '
weight champion of the prison.—
