ERNEST PITT RUN DOWN BY AUTO Mrs. Ernest Fruitt. 25 years old, whose husband Is a member of the Pruitt and Hittson Automobile com pany was run down by a car driven by W. A. Crane at the corner of Riv erside and Main streets Saturday af ternoon and received serious Injuries from which it is believed she has a fair chance- to recover. Mrs. Pruitt was crossing the street from the Gates store to the Hubbard corner and passed in front of the Crane car which came to a stop. Hurrying on Mrs. Pruitt apparently caught sight of another can coming south on Riv erside an bewildered she darted back airecuy in rront or tne first car which had started slowly on Its way. Although Crane Jammed on his emer gency brake, the pavement was very slippery and the front wheels passed over the woman's body dragging her 15 or 20 feet. C.
