Six Germans were selected from different portions of the army a a firing quad, and placed In command of a lieutenant, who entered into the work of slaughter with zest, and carefully watched the men to see that hi orders were rigidly obeyed. After the murder he found but five bullet holes In her body and report ed the fact. Tbe six men were sent for, but only five could be found. The sixth had been secreted and subsequently boarded a ship for Am erica. On the way the vessel was submarined and the man met an un timely end. The five were qulrkly rounded up and were never again heard of. The lieutenant was decor ated by the kaiser for his brave deed and was sent a a spy Into France, where he succeeded In getting Into the army. One day a German aeroplane sail ed over the French camp and drop ped a letter to the commander, In forming him of a spy, who was des cribed and the decoration of the or der of St. George was found sewed In the lining or bis uniform. He was tried, convicted, and sentenced to be shot next morning. During the night a German shell fell near him and be was instantly killed. The commander who ordered Miss Ca velle executed was retired soon af terward and was killed while shoot ing on his estate, supposedly by ac cident. The chief criminal, the kaiser, still remains alive, the only one whose violent death has not come to pass. When will his turn come?
