NATIONAL PROBLEMS Many serious problems will con front this nation at th close of tbe war, on of which will b th man ner of absorbing the enormous num ber of Americans now in foreign lands, who will be returned to our. shores as fast as available ships can bring them. Conditions will have changed during their absence and they will be without employment. They will hare risked their all to protect th country in Its hour of need and will have a right to first consideration. . Unless careful study Is given the matter and -wise pro vision Is mide, many of them will suffer and so will social conditions. There can be but one" final result of this conflict and , that is that Prussian militarism Is forever to be done away with., Voder such condi tions there will nof hereafter be the necessity of building great warships and maintaining a vast army of de fense, in consequence we will save Immense sums: of money that here tofore have been a necessary expense of government. On the other hand we will have an enormous national debt, the Interest alone of which will be a great burden. We are a rich nation and can handle the .debt without serious concern. Tbe one all absorbing problem will be, what shall we do with this Immense number of returning citi zen soldiers? How shall we provide them with a legitimate means of making a livelihood? The general government, in co operation with states, can spend on public highways sufficient funds to construct a Bystem of paved roads. over which vast armies can he rabid ly transported if necessary, and In times of peace and the rapidly In creasing number of motor vehicles. the business of the country can be served and the pleasures of travel satisfy In an economical manner. For the least bit of heedlessness on your part in food conservation, some one somewhere in the world must suffer privation. Tbe food ad ministration has mastered the prob lem of . America's food in such a way that every ounce of food con served and kept in the currents of trade goes to the empty stomach of someone In Europe who is going to keenly appreciate it. In a great organization like the ' Maxwell Motor Company which, in four years, has done a business in excess of $100,000,000, there are many great minds. These great minds have found a way to maketrucks stronger, yet lighter in weight (more thought and less metal went into the truck). These great minds have found ways to build them better, yet at less cost. That's one reason why you can buy a Maxwell for $400 less than any other truck of similar capacity in the world. That's one reason why the Maxwell has a: verdict of close to 100 perfect from its service record based on the 6600 Maxwell trucks now in use. COLLINS AUTO CO. DISTRIBUTORS
