Membership is to be by schools. Whenever a school has obtained a local fund. In an amount equal to 25 cents per pupil, the school becomes an auxiliary of the Red Cross and, at the same time, every pupil becomes a junior member and Is entitled to wear the membership button. COUNTY MEET TO Governor, Wlthycombe and Chair man Benson, of the state highway commission told the people of Curry county, while passing through that section a couple of weeks ago, that the coast highway from Crescent City north would "be an expensive piece of work, probably costing $500,000 and requiring more funds than would be available at the pres ent or in the Immediate future, and that the matter was a suggestion to be taken up later, after the high ways In the more populous sections were completed." 'Acting on this suggestion, the Curry county good roads association has called a meeting at Gold lleach for Thursday, September 8, and has asked every road district in the county to send at least one repre sentative to the meeting to discuss the road situation In that county. E. Blanchard.
