It Is doubly Inter esting because rare. The total sup ply in the world to date has been a little less than 5.000,000 ounces or' about 109 tons. Nearly 163.000 ounces are used yearly in the United States. Halt of this is used In jewelry. In chemi cal and physical equipment, in the manufacture of sulphuric acid and In electrical devices, most of the re maining half is used. N'elarly all the platinum of the world has been taken from placer de posits. None of the deposits in mo ther rocks have been found of a grade that would permit commercial mining. By far the largest known deposits are In Russia, that country having furnished 957t of the world's supply. Colombia, S. A. is the second largest producer; with small deposits In Bra zil, Spain, Australia and Borneo. In North America the known sup ply is In the gravels of a few streams in the western mountains. In Can ada the metal is found in the Tul ameen district not far from Oroville, Wash. In the United States the pro duction of platinum has been limited to streams rising In the belt of ser pentine rocks In central California and from the serpentine areas in Siskiyou and Trinity Counties, In the northwestern part of the state, which continue northeast Into Curry, Jose-i phine and Jackson counties, Oregon, j a FOR CROUP Dsnnls Eucalyptus Ointment at iu ohuq erosis Tunc 2ao jar boo I IN London, May 11.
