Fifty urvrror of the passengers and crew of the steamer Sankaku Maru which was wrecked off Chefoo, landed safely, according to a despatch from that city, received today. The survivors Include two American passengers. The fate of the remainder of the 400 passengers and crew who were aboard the Sankaku when she went aground is not made clear by the despatches. It Is feared, however, that many may have froxen to death. First despatches yesterday ststed that there were 400 passengers and crew aboard the Sankaku Maru when she went ashore. Today's advices account for only 50 Americans and Japanese, and "a few Chinese pas sengers." This would leave the un accounted -tor approximately 350. Tokio despatches do not indicate clearly the fate of these, but express the ominous fear that many "may have frozen to death." TABOO THE WEED AT WILLAMETTE McMinnville, Dec. 28.
