They will return in time to play the champions of the' Medford-Weed games at Ashland on the sixth. The management has secured two crack In fielders, Hornby and Sandllng, from Portland, they having arrived this morning. These will remain with the local team for the season. On July 9, next Sunday, the locals will play Medford here. FLOOD DAMAGE AT WASCO Portland, July 1. Postmaster W. E. Tate of Wasco-telegraphed the United Press today, estimating dam age as a result of the cloudburst at 25,000 and confirming the four deaths. ' . "A wall of water 20 feet high swept down Hay creek -canyon at 5:80 p. m. yesterday," TateS mes sage said. ' Bridges and roadway were washed away, one bridge was unea irom iu concrete piers and carried intact for a mile. At least two farm houses were demolished and several head of livestock were drowned.
