BERT ELLIOTT HEYER ARE WEDDED Dr. Bert Ray Elliott and Miss Mar guerite Ellen Heyer, both of this city, were the principals in a decidedly pretty wedding that occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blanch ard, 315 C street, Wednesday even ing, at which the Rev. Melville T. Wire, pastor of the Newman Meth odist Episcopal church, officiated. The guests had assembled in a room at the Blanchard home at six o'clock, and as tb-e folding doors con nectlng with the parlor opened the wedding party was seen ready for the speaking of the momentous words that would link the lives and the fortunes of the worthy and popular young people. , The bride and groom were supported by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blanchard as best man and matron of honor. SEARCHERS FAIL TO FINE TRACE OF LOST HOMESTEADER At a late hour this afternoon the searchers who have been scouring the Savage creek hills in the hope of find ing R. L. Disbrow, the aged home steader who left his home Mon day forenoon, had been unsuccessful In their hunt. No trace of the old man has been discovered and no word has come from blm since he left his home at between 10 and 11 o'clock Monday to hunt for his cattle. Num erous searching parties are now out, several auto loads of people having left Grants Pass early today, and the hunt will be maintained till the mys tery of Mr. Dlsbrow's disappearance Is solved. There Is now little hope that Mr. Dlshrow can be found alive If he has been in the hills since Mon day, as the nights have been cold and Monday night a heavy rain was fall ing part of tho time. That ho suffer ed an attack of heart failure Is thought most probable, and he may have fallen In the.hcavy undergrowth, whore searchers will have difficulty In locating him. OFFICIALS WILL MEET fiEXT MONDAY Alex Ntbloy, of the Oregon-Utah Sugar company, passed through the city on train No. 14 this mornlng cn route from Medford to Portland. From the latter city he will go to Salt Lake City, where the directors of the new sugar company are to meet uext Monday. Geo. ; Sunders, the vice-president of tho company, will leave tonight and Join Mr. Nib ley on the trip to Salt Lake City. To morrow morning Wharton Plummor, secretary of the Rogue River Public Service corporation, will go to San Francisco, and will bo in Salt Lake City Monday at the meeting of the directors of the Oregon-Utah Sugar company, and will then go on to Chicago, where he expects to arrive before the end of the year. Schmidt as the man who assisted in the purchase and shipment of dynamite at San Fran cisco shortly before the Times build ing hero was blown up continued to day in Schmidt's trial on a murder charge. Logan, who lives on 19 th avenue, San Francisco, said she had seen Schmidt and another man un loading boxea Into a house on that street, and that she had seen Schmidt carry suit cases Into the house, Tho state alleges tho boxes contained ex plosives. Mrs. A. Whltlock told of seeing two men unloading boxes, but could not identify Schmidt as one of them. Mrs. W. A. Peterson, of East Oak land, said Schmidt and another man vlaltod her house about a woek be fore the Times was blown up .'and offered $500 for the hire of a launch. It was refused. ' , H, M. Nutter, a salesmen for an Oakland sign house, swore he sold two men letters for the word "Peer less,." which the prosecution claims were nailed onto the launch Pastime, which the dynamiters are alleged to have hired to carry their deadly gola tine to Los Angeles from Ban Fran cisco.
