Olga ROY BUSH HELD UP RELIEVED OF THIRTY-FIVE CENTS To be summarily commanded to halt and to tlck up his handi. at the same time feeling the nose of a re volver being pressed against his ribs, was the experience ot Roy Bush at about nine o'clock. Thursday night. Mr. Rush was just returning from his place of business to his home, and at the Gilbert creek bridge on West D street suddenly came race to face with the bad man. The hold-up was masked by having a handkerchief over his face, with holes cut for the eyes. With the gun pressed against Roy's side, the robber ordered him to keep one hand In the air and with the other to hand over his valuables. When only 35 cents In change was forthcoming, the robber made a search through the pockets himself but could discover no more coin ot the realm. A watch which Bush car ried was Inspected, but falling to pass muster was contemptuously csst aside. Satisfied that he had got all the values that Bush assayed, the Hooper emulator ordered Bush to proceed homeward, telling him to proceed leisurely and not to run. Once as Bush glanced over his shoulder he saw the hold-up man still standing on theibrldge watching him. Last year the commission fixed the ratio for this county at 61 per cent, but later raised this to 74 when a showing had been made and Investigated. The assess or and the county court propose to seek a better ratio, as they are con fldent that the ratio of assessed valu ation to the real cash value Is high er than 69 per cent. Data Is being gsthered to show that In recent transactions tne sale price of prop erty has not been materially greater than the taxed value. Every per cent of Increase that can be obtained above the 69 arbitrarily fixed by the commission will mean a difference of f 1,000 on the right side of the ledge for Josephine county, The ratio Is used by the commission In arriving at me rate at which It win assess the property of public utilities In this county.
