Mrs. Heaton had left the house to go to a store, a short distance away, leaving the baby under the care of his 6-year-old sister. Shortly afterwards, a fire was discovered on the roof, evi dently caused by a defective flue. The little girl ran after her mother, leaving the boy sleeping on the floor. In the meantime neighbors seeing the flames rushed to the burning house and carried the boy out, but he was so badly burned that he died a few hours later.
