Mr. McCormick ran to ib child and quickly smothered the fire with a woolen dret sb was wearing, and at one summoned a physician. While the burns wer severe, thev were not thought serious, and everything ws don to relieve the little fellow' suffer ings. Shortly after midnight Wednesday the parent were awakened by the hard breathing of the child and soon after th death rattle was noticed, th eyes became glaosy and at 2 o'clock the baby passed away without a strug gle. From the time the boy was bura- d up to witbin an hour ot bis death, Mr. and Mrs. McCormick had watched almost constantly over him, doing every thing that human hand could do to re lieve his sufferings, and tb parent were happy in the belief that the danger had passed and their baby would recov er.
