Convention was called to order at 11:05 a. m. by Benton Bowman, chairman of the. county central com mittee. Sec, J. A. Thoruburg read the call for convention. Next were the nominations of temporary officers; Brlgg of Dilley and Thurston Bux ton of Forest Grove were nominated. The Chair appoiuted four fellers as follows: Dr. Wood or North Hills boro, Cal Jack of North Hillsboro, Mr. Saxton of Reedvllle and Mr. Hoge of Forest Grove. Motion moved and carried that member be allowed to cast the full vote of their respective precincts. The ballot was spread and when counted it totaled 75 for Mr. Brlgg and 74 for Mr. Buxton. Mr. Hus ton moved on behalf of Mr. Buxton and bis friends that the vote be unanimous for Mr. Briggs, carried. Mr, Briggs then took the chair amid great applause. Next in order was nomination of temporary secretary. Mr. Cady, B. P. Cornelius and John Bailey were placed in nomination; Mr. Bailey withdrew In favor of Mr. Cornelius, and Mr. Cornelius withdrew in favor of Mr. Cady, who was then elected by acclamation. A committee of three consisting of Stitt, Buxton and Imbrie was appointed on permanent organization and order of business. Benton Bowman and J. A Thorn- burg were appointed on the creden tials committee. The convention then adjourned to meet at 1 p. m. Convention was called to order at l;24 p. in. by Chairman Briggs.
