grets that he will not be permitted to
vote next Monday, but promises him

The citizens of the neighborhood
four or five miles north of Oreenvilie,
at a point called Fir Urove, have
formed an eleemosynary corporation
for the purpose of building a church.
In the neighborhood there is no de
nomination strong enough to build a
house of worship or to maintain reg
ular service, wherefore all denomi
nations will be permitted to use the
new structure. It is much needed as
there is no place for holding religious
services nearer than eight or ten
miles. The building will be 20x36
feet in size and will cost about (000.
A committee was in Hillshoro this
week soliciting contributions in

Tbe eleventh annual convention of
the Sunday schools of Washington
county will be held la the Christian
church, Uillsboro, on Thursday next,
June 7ih. Each school In the county
is entitled to two delegates at large
and oue for every twenty-five schol
ars. The schools are requested to
send reports by the delegates and one
cent for each scholar to help pay the
expenses of the association. It is ex
pected that several state workers will
be present aod since the time to so
near the stale association It la possi
ble that one or more' of the national
secretaries may attend. Tbe follow
